Pastor John has been our pastor since 2022, and before that he practiced law in the area for over 30 years. In 2015, he felt the calling towards ministry, and enrolled in Eden Theological Seminary. Pastor John, who also preaches at our sister church in Brighton, rejects the traditional, conservative, evangelical Christian narrative of fire and damnation and its alignment with Christian nationalism. Instead, he believes that church belongs to everyone, and that the Lord loves everyone equally, regardless of whether or not they are gay, transgender, divorced, disabled, poor, immigrants, or ex-convicts. Pastor John believes that it is essential for everyone to take historical context into mind when reading the Bible, as many of the stories within the Bible have much deeper meanings than what may be taken at just face value.
